Ideas and Implementation
Don’t get attached to what you built.
Get attached to what you’re trying to achieve.
Sunk cost is inevitable. Rigidity is optional.
Strong teams hold ideas lightly and goals firmly. We often fall into the trap of over-valuing the first implementation of an idea, rather than the core problem it was meant to solve. When we decouple our ego from the codebase, we allow better solutions to emerge.
Implementation is just one expression of an idea. If the expression fails, the idea might still be valid, it just needs a new form.
